Choosing the right filament makes the difference between a print that just looks good and a part that actually does its job. Here is how the four materials in our range compare, based on how we use them on our own printers every day.
PLA — the everyday all-rounder
PLA is the easiest material to print: low nozzle temperature, minimal warping, and a clean surface finish straight off the bed. It is biodegradable and works on virtually every FDM printer. Choose PLA for prototypes, visual models and decorative prints. Its main limitation is heat: parts left in a hot car or near a heat source will deform.
PLA PRO1 — engineering strength, PLA simplicity
PLA PRO1 is designed for engineers and professionals. It prints at speeds up to 300 mm/s with a nozzle at 200–220 °C, needs little to no heated bed (0–60 °C), and produces parts that are stronger than ABS — without the printing difficulties of ABS. We stock it on spools up to 4.5 kg, which is ideal for print farms and long production runs. If you want functional parts with minimal hassle, this is our default recommendation.
ABS Fusion+ — impact resistance and heat tolerance
ABS Fusion+ is the classic choice for functional parts that need to take a beating or handle higher temperatures. It post-processes well: you can sand, drill and glue it. Fusion+ has improved bed adhesion compared to standard ABS, which removes the most common ABS frustration. Use an enclosed printer for the best results.
TPU — when parts need to flex
TPU is a rubber-like, flexible material. We carry two hardnesses: 85A (extra flexible, for seals and grips) and 95A (flexible but strong, for durable bendable parts). TPU absorbs vibrations well, which makes it great for feet, dampers, protective covers and gaskets. A direct-drive extruder is recommended for reliable TPU printing.
